This picture shows the small cottages built to form Laigh Row. Laigh means low as the cottages are lower than the harbour road which goes at about roof level. It protects from the wind during the winter storms and some steps lead from the road. This happened because of a dispute between the Laird of Logan House who owned the cottages and the authority building the road.
